BEHIND THE BYTES
Built out of curiosity.
A place for small games, overlooked machines, things to make and stories worth keeping.
Really Byte brings Alan’s independent projects into one curious home. The interests are deliberately varied: motoring and models, animals, family memories, island heritage and the pleasure of finding out how something works.
This flagship is a destination in its own right. You can play, read or make something here before ever visiting another site. Optional downloads and clearly labelled affiliate links help support the collection.
REALLY BYTE / ON YOUTUBE
Gef, a mongoose and an island mystery.
“Gef the Talking Mongoose: The Isle of Man’s Strangest Mystery” is a Really Byte storytelling video. Enjoy the tale as a mystery story, rather than evidence that its extraordinary claims are true.

PROJECT NOTES / 9 OCTOBER 2026
The first edition
Four arcade games, twelve articles, two little creative tools and a free four-page sampler form the first edition. The catalogue also brings four existing Really Byte printable packs together with their actual previews.
The next additions should earn their place: more games when they work, deeper articles when the research is ready, and directory entries when their sites are published.
